Software / Systems Engineer – Rochester,NY–

Description

Seeking Software and Systems Engineer to become an incremental addition to PLE’s Engineering Team. Responsibilities will include optimization of current software algorithms, transfer of imaging technologies and algorithms from academia, and R&D efforts that will define PLE’s technology road map. Applicant should have an entrepreneurial attitude, able to work independently and in small groups, and generally forward looking. Experience managing small research or design efforts is a plus. Some travel may be required for support and technical demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • M.S. in Science or higher preferable
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors degree, 3 years with Masters in disciplines noted above.
  • Several years of software development experience

Required Experience:

  • C/C++ programming language and object-oriented design

  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments

  • Experience in the fields of Computer Vision, Image Processing, and Signal Processing

  • Experience with embedded system design and programming a plus


Embedded Firmware Engineer – Video Analytics – Rochester, NY–

Description

In this position, a Firmware Engineer will be responsible for;

  • The design and development of embedded software for tactical radio products Responsible for all phases of the product development including requirement identification, design, test and product support

  • Research, design, and development of computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development

  • The application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis

  • Analysis of software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

  • Consultation with electrical or mechanical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements of the overall system

  • Develops and directs software system testing procedures, programming and documentation

  • Maintaining existing software baseline as well as add new features to the product

Qualifications

  • BSEE, BSCS, BSCE "content">required or equivalent experience, MS desirable.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors degree, 3 years with Masters in disciplines noted above.
  • Must have a strong firmware development background.

Required Experience:

  • C/C++ programming language and object-oriented design

  • Firmware development on embedded processors

  • Software development process
